On The Road

Winterberry Farm offers a variety of off-farm programs. Most are designed to meet the requester's individual needs.

We can bring animals to preschools and daycare centers, schools, assisted living facilities, museums, libraries and festivals. Some visits are quite short and feature one or two animals. Others include several visits and demonstrations involving not only animals but also some of their uses.

Our animal programs have included border collie herding demos (usually with ducks), as well as visits from our guard llama, sheep and lambs, goats and kids, angora rabbits, and all manner of adult and young waterfowl and land birds.

Our process programs include weaving, spinning (angora and/or sheep wool), flax to linen processing, choosing sheep wool fleeces, wet and dry felting, dyeing and soap making.

Fees are based on program detail and length, as well as travel distance.

We have a special concern to bring programs to people (kids and adults) in urban settings and/or with few resources. We are pleased to make special arrangements in such cases.
